I have my lisence, don't live In NSW and have no business using your app. Dowladed it out of curiosity to see if I'd pass these days. App works perfectly, nice layout, very easy interface. Nice one :)

weckyweckerson

Did you pass?

[deleted]

Nah. Got the negligent driving questions wrong.

weckyweckerson

Interesting. I’ll have to try it out on my phone.

globlow

Downloaded for fun, definitely better than the RMS app. Great work! (I passed)

kevlarman

You cannot have more than 2 road safety essentials questions wrong. Should this say "you cannot have more than 1 question wrong?"

IntuitionaL

I think you are right. So I got the rules according to [this](https://roads-waterways.transport.nsw.gov.au/roads/licence/driver/tests/driver-knowledge-test.html) and it says the test will end immediately if you get "2 wrong in the road safety section". So technically you aren't allowed to get 2 or more wrong. I'll change the wording and re-look at the app's logic to make sure it's failing you properly after work. Thanks.

giantpunda

Didn't realise that we did product placements in this sub.

Bhonka

We also have shitloads of photos no one gives a fuck about. Deal with it.

giantpunda

Well there's a sub rule about self promotion. Which is the rule about photos again?

doobey1231

Whilst I would normally agree with you, its a free app thats specifically relevant to people in our city that could help them, I personally think it gets a pass, but the mods can decide on that anyway.

thekriptik

We have.

giantpunda

Well it's not free free. There's advertising in the app so the dude gets paid. This all to me feels just wrong. Like someone could be a regular on here, then start spruiking some new business they started up or advertise some specials that they have for their existing Sydney-based company and that's all ok. There's nothing stopping anyone using this platform for advertising and marketing just so long as they've been active for a bit and don't spam it. If the mods are ok with that, so be it. It's their sub.

thekriptik

>This all to me feels just wrong. Like someone could be a regular on here, then start spruiking some new business they started up or advertise some specials that they have for their existing Sydney-based company and that's all ok. I realise that this is a fairly subjective judgement call, but we *probably* wouldn't allow it in that situation.

giantpunda

Like I said, your sub dude. Just saying how I feel about it.

Flyerone

> If you have something you want to promote, you will need to have been an active member of the community. Have you been through this 10 year redditor's activity to check?

nearly_enough_wine

I have, and OP probably wouldn't pass on that metric alone. Given that it's a free app and specifically made for residents of NSW, it gets a pass.

ShibaHook

Their one and only post or comment to this subreddit is promoting their app that runs ads.

giantpunda

So you're suggesting that they're not an active member of this community, like the rules stipulate? I mean now that mods have spoken, this is kind of a whatever thing. I appreciate that you went to the effort to check and confirm that I was right but at the end of the day the mods can do whatever they want with their own sub, even if it breaks their own rules. They've just established a precedent that future advertisers can use to justify their posting of their ad on the sub. Appreciate the intent all the same though.
