In your receiver settings set all speakers to small and crossover all speakers to 80hz

Thanks

HTSavant

Put the Avr in stereo rather than direct. Make sure all speakers are set to small, with crossovers near the 80hz mark.

Thank you! I cant believe I still had my L/R set to large. I have read to set to small and I thought I did. Anyway I appreciate it

hairyanus47

After setting to small and crossover at 80hz I feel like I'm missing something. For example tool fear innoculum sounded like it had more low end bass when I was set to large.

HTSavant

You likely had double bass or lfe+main on so the mains were playing full range and the sub was playing anything below the crossover too.

hairyanus47

How do I fix it? Turn lfe+main off

HTSavant

Leave it alone and get used to it. This is the proper way.

K, Would you suggest getting a minidsp and umik1? I've watched some videos and, I am kinda on the fence. I've ran audessey but I'm always looking to make it sound better

HTSavant

Start with the audyssey app. If you enjoy playing there then umik-1 and Rew are a great next step.
