What are some companies that allow work from *anywhere*?

What are some companies that allow work from *anywhere*?

Charming-Touch-7584

Cambly. There are a TON of digital nomads there. No degree required. $10.20 per talk hour. Pays on Mondays via Paypal.

melho

I thought I saw someone say once that there are so many tutors that they don't get much work on Cambly?

Charming-Touch-7584

Right now they are giving a bonus for people to work this Sunday. Cambly hires in batches to keep the student-teacher ratio where it needs to be. If you want a VERY full schedule, apply to Cambly Kids (CK) and ALL of the teachers are getting booked 90% or more.

melho

What do these tutoring sessions even look like? Do you just make small talk with adults and/or kids?

Charming-Touch-7584

Mostly on the adult (regular) Cambly side, you just talk about whatever. There are some powerpoint style lessons you can do from their library. The student is there to speak and for you to correct their pronunciation or explain phrases (i.e. shooting the breeze). I do alot of work with students on how to talk in a business setting and work on resumes and applications. Because I am a published author, I do some coaching on how to do that too.

melho

Thanks for sharing!! That seems fun to just talk to people in different countries and help them improve their English. I used to work in HR so I'd love helping them with resumes and such if that was a topic! Do you mention you career, background, etc? To be paired with business professionals? Or is it just random?

Charming-Touch-7584

It is random at times. A student has the option to look at profiles or click for any tutor to connect with them. You do both a written and video intro and that is where I mention my areas of expertise. Cambly runs 24/7 and is worldwide.

melho

Cool! So the video you submit with your application won't be your intro on your page then?

Charming-Touch-7584

Yes, the intro video is to be aimed at students. I change mine every few months.

melho

Cool! Just wanted to make sure the application video wasn't what would be on your page for people to find you. I appreciate the input/insight. I have a full-time job but I always like to work side things to make extra income

elvenrunelord

I've been trying to get on with them for over a year now as something to do late at night instead of watching TV. hasn't happened yet

miss_jones_iii

Does Cambly work with an android tablet?

Charming-Touch-7584

You need a laptop or desktop computer with webcam and headphones for the ESL companies.

Annoyedatreddit1

Yes that's PERFECT. Do you mind sharing some?

SomeDudeOnRedit

I've been writing on and off for Verblio for maybe 10 months. It's hard to get into, I think they have 97% rejection rate, so take the application process seriously. Right now I'm making about $23 per page of content. Feel free to DM if you have any questions

sandraver

Hey do you mind sending me some info as well?

georgesmith446

Hi, please do let me know, I was actually looking for content writing opportunities that allow working from anywhere

Snoo_93309

Can you recommend for someone With no current publications? Digital or otherwise

normalteen0

Hey do you know some companies hiring graphic designer from anywhere?

13Max93

I think the company cloud workers could offer something like this. Not 100% sure tho.

Annoyedatreddit1

Thanks I'll check that out

Rainingcatsnstuff

What exactly do you do on cloud workers? The website says "Our chat moderators are engaged in text-based online chats, in one or more online social community platforms. Their objective is to animate those communities, stimulate conversations and therby cultivate long lasting realtionships. Creating an engaging and imaginative experience for customers is key to the success of this enterprise." but that's pretty vague.

13Max93

It is vague because depending on your skill you can get a job based on that. Want call center? You get it. Want IT Support? You can get it. Chat Moderator? Sure

NicholasBarb87

Is the platform called cloud workers?

Snoo_93309

It's adult chat 💬

If work from anywhere means remaining in the country you sign up in, then I would say Appen allows this in my experience (don't know if they explicitly state this, but I've done work on projects while on vacation in different parts of the country).

Annoyedatreddit1

Sweet. That's exactly what I'm looking for. I work at a hotel at night time and I can (and do) use my laptop, though currently just to kill time, because I literally don't do anything at all for 7 out of 8 hours. So I was looking for work that just let's me use wifi and have my laptop. Appen sounds perfect.

1965wasalongtimeago

Just be warned that Appen is incredibly capricious - there is *always* the risk of getting your hours suddenly chopped to nearly nothing because you made 5 or so mistakes during an entire month and those just happened to be half of the review tasks.

birdmansix

I agree. I suggest treating appen pay like bonus money. It is nice to get but not something to rely or depend on.

jojolemlolo

are you on the go in the same country? Afaik, leaving the country is not allowed for Appen

soundthealarm21

If you're working in the same country, Lionbridge will let you do it

Annoyedatreddit1

Sweet. That's one I haven't seen mentioned. Will check that out.

ManicGypsy

Lionbridge will, but they do not allow you to use a VPN, and the work you do is confidential, so they would want you to work in places where others can't see your screen. But I think that one is on the honor system. Also, Fiverr might be an option, depending on what skills you have.

Annoyedatreddit1

Sweet. That's exactly what I'm looking for. I work at a hotel at night time and I can (and do) use my laptop, though currently just to kill time, because I literally don't do anything at all for 7 out of 8 hours. I'm looking for any and all types of typing based work. (not proficient enough for programming or anything of that sort, though I plan to change that) but any work at all typing wise, I'm interested in.

Hollywood899

Onlyfans for sure number 1 on the list ANYWHERE.

RouletteSensei

Isn't onlyfans suitable if you have a decent public to bring in?

Obvious_Inspector_65

What if you do t want to embarrass yourself in public?

coming2grips

i guess you could try sending some pics to reddit for analysis and review first

Obvious_Inspector_65

No I mean, it is held against you for doing porn. Not many jobs would want a former pornstar working for their company.

Firebrass

I mean, if your boss tries to search you on only fans before hiring you . . . And if they were already familiar with your nude content, you're probably not at the interview because they intend to risk their job for some snu snu

Obvious_Inspector_65

I don't plan on doing porn lol.

TheGeneGeena

What if you're past the age/your body isn't really such that anyone who doesn't already love you wants to/would pay to see it nude? 😂

Firebrass

Every body is one people want to see nude - whether they will pay for it is a matter of economics, but if you court the attention, the paper will follow. Especially if you do unusual stuff - you wanna smash berries and cream cheese with your toes? Even if your feet got enough hair and stink to play bass in a grunge band, somebody has been searching for that kink (or whatever catches your fancy).

samxgmx0

Appen limits you to the country you reside in. So if you are in the US, you can't work in Mexico or Canada but you can go anywhere in the 50.

GodoftheGeeks

I think it really depends on what you mean by on the go a lot. Working from like different places around town is likely no big deal to find something but when you start talking about being on the go in terms of being in other states/timezones/countries, that makes things a lot more complicated so not as many companies are as open to that.

Annoyedatreddit1

So I was looking for work that just let's me use wifi and have my laptop. I've seen lionbridge, appen, fiverr, and upwork mentioned, if you care to add more :)

GodoftheGeeks

I can't speak for the others but I have worked for Lionbridge multiple times and I wouldn't recommend them and I will never go back to them.

IHateTurboTax

Will it put your hotel job at risk if they find out you're actually on the clock for another company on their time? Just looking out for you!

Annoyedatreddit1

Not at all lol they are just happy to have someone show up consistently so they don't have to work at night. Never called in once in 2 full years (and they know there's nothing to do all night... But someone has to be there lol)

IHateTurboTax

Excellent!! Good for you having understanding bosses!! :)

jason2306

Subtitle places probably. I don't remember the names but it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Annoyedatreddit1

Thanks :)

Bran-a-don

This question is asked every single day bro. Just look at the sidebar and use the search function and you'll get plenty of responses.

Annoyedatreddit1

I searched the phrase in this sub of "work from anywhere" and most of the responses are years old. I'm not asking about typical work from home jobs. They all want you to have a wired connection and work from the same place every time. I am asking about the specific niche of companies that literally let you work from anywhere. Where all I need is my laptop and internet, and I'm good to go. If you are saying that there are many of these jobs out there, and discussed daily on this sub, point me in the direction of what to search for because, again, work from *anywhere* jobs are not being discussed daily, that I have been able to find by searching for the phrase *work from anywhere*

ParsleySalsa

r/beermoney wiki may have something of use to you

Annoyedatreddit1

Nice. Gonna give that sub a look :)

naran_j

Please try Upwork, [Freelancer.com](https://Freelancer.com) , Guru.com

benabducted

Some of comcasts positions are completely virtual. Usually customer service positions

Annoyedatreddit1

Do they let you work from anywhere? Like no wired connection. I am definitely interested in chat based customer service

benabducted

As far as I'm aware it doesn't matter where u live, but they do want a good internet connection. Probably doesn't have to be wired
